Happy Monday!
I realize there’s a lot going on right now and our hearts are heavy. Honestly, what’s happening in society with protest and the black lives matter movement was unexpected yet I feel incredibly hopeful. To see protest in all 50 states and 16 different countries, blows my mind. Seeing Japanese people chanting “Black Lives Matter” while walking down the streets of Tokyo….in Australia they are protesting not only Black lives, but also Indigenous peoples lives who have be marginalized. Seeing people of all colors, genders, nationalities, etc…come together to stand up for injustice…it feels so good. What’s happening now isn’t a moment, but a movement of change. I have shared my own experiences of racism on Instagram, and I’ve saved it in my stories if you’d like to take a look.
But on a lighter note, lets have a little fun with this amazing t-shirt I found on Amazon. I kinda think it’s ironic that Minnie (a mouse) and Daisy (a duck) can be best friends. To me, it simply shows that love can exceed race or even species lol. When I saw this shirt, it reminded me of my friends who all look different. I’ve always had friends from different races, backgrounds, religions, etc. I am so lucky to have such a diverse group of friends. We may not always agree on everything, but one thing we do all stand against is RACISM. If Disney doesn’t teach you anything, one thing it does show is that if some mice, some ducks, some dogs (or whatever the hell Goofy is) and some Chipmunks can get along…maybe there’s smig of hope for the rest of us.
